Issue 3 of the excellent Terrible Sunrise is now available. I read the first two a few years ago and was blown away by the scope of Stan Martin’s undertaking.
He’s trying for nothing less than to tell the story of the First World War from the points of view of several of the participants. This is being done by concentrating on the fortunes of volunteers from on English market town. It looks like it could easily rival Charley’s War, the other great Great War comic strip, which is currently being reprinted in the 2000AD Megazine. (This site kept being referenced in my search for Charley’s War info, but it’s on Tripod and I was told that it had exceeded its allocated bandwidth. try again tomorrow.)
