Back to Nature

A mountain biker in Orange county has been killed by a mountain cat whilst out on a training run.

Authorities said Friday it appeared that a 110-pound male cat attacked Reynolds around noon Thursday after his bicycle chain broke as he zoomed down Cactus Ridge Run trial in the northeastern section of the park.

After seizing upon the trim, well-liked biker whom neighbors usually only saw in helmet, shorts and racing jersey, the mountain lion dragged him about 40 yards, ate his internal organs, then partially covered the remains under brush, coroner’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.

I’d still rather deal with that sort of danger than have to dodge idiots in cars.
