Red rain is coming down

Steven Grant starts his column this week with a little bit of fiction. The Mad Max style future is still a possibility, more so than when the films (2 & 3) came out, given the oil wars and lack of sensible energy laws. Following the success of The Day After Tomorrow, there could be room for a film version of Heavy Weather by Bruce Sterling, a less extreme vision of global warming with a better plot. (TDAT was okay, actually. Of the four cheapo movies, it comes second after Potter 3.)

When (if) I get round to buying a car, I think I’m going to look for a diesel and run it on biodiesel most of the time. If I’m ever rich enough, I’m investing in a Thermal Depolymerisation plant.
