France is suffering an outbreak of wine terrorism. Sales and exports of medium and low quality wines have dropped in recent years and wine producers, both radical and mainstream, are calling for subsidies to see them through the crisis and a reduction of the “wine lake” by subsidised distillation.

I like goats. The rest of the Spinneyhead collective isn’t so sure, but I don’t listen to them on this subject. Imagine my delight when I found out that a helpful poster at Kuro5hin has gone out on teh Internets to find as many goat facts as possible and a few cute goat pictures.

I remember haytime. the bales produced on the local farms generally went to produce winter feed and bedding. An American professor is arguing that grass from marginal farmland could be turned into pellets and used as fuel.

Washington state now has a law requiring that new municipal buildings incorporate energy saving and “green” technologies. It costs more up front, but the long term savings more than cover it. The law’s supporters also promised a better environment for those who work and study there, which is probably true, but a lot harder to argue in any concrete way.

The seven men, aged between 50 and 69 years old, had all suffered from a swelling of the optic nerve within 36 hours of taking Viagra for erectile dysfunction.
Six experienced vision loss within 24 hours, although only one had problems with both eyes.
