    There have been adverts on the radio for a few weeks to that effect. If people read the highway code however they would find that it’s misleading and not entirely correct. You can legally go through lights on amber if by braking heavily to stop you would cause a danger to yourself and other road users.

    I see what is trying to be done… the simple answer is just to extend the amount of time both lights remain on red by a few seconds. Then there’s no problem. It’s a lot easier than trying to change the mindset of an entire nation.
