I took part in the Naked Bike Ride. My penis is proving quite popular (on the internet), this picture, featuring me, another bloke and two rather attractive women with odd headwear, all of us naked, is the most favourited of my flickr images.

I’m sketching a bunch of ideas for stencil graffiti, to become transfers for modern image railway modellers who want to add a little grit. So I thought I’d see what resources there are for stencillers online. (Update The stencil graffiti transfers can now be ordered from Spinneyworld.)

Stencil Revolution is an Australian collective. The tutorials and gallery sections are down at the moment because they were having security issues, but there are a few good examples still dotted around.

Cold War Kids – Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

I upgraded to the new version of Blogger.

A few events and characters to follow up from Stand and Deliver: A History of Highway Robbery–

Sawney Beane. Patriarch of an incestuous and cannibalistic gang operating out of hidden caves on the Galloway coast. Inspiration for The Hills Have Eyes, amongst others.

The Gordon Riots. Anti Catholic rioting in 1780 led by Lord George Gordon protesting a law which reversed lots of discrimination against Catholics.

Mohocks. Gangs of rich young men who roamed the London streets assaulting and terrifying members of the public.

Jack Ketch’s Warren. Streets in Clerkenwell that were turned into a no-go zone for the law and had tunnels and secret doors to help criminals escape.

I published a few pieces of fiction in January-

A Sort of Homecoming – Venn (which is now the title of Spinneyhead Presents’ current project.) – How Deep is Your Love

Celebrated my birthday in typical style.

Memory started filming, with footage shot in the Green Building and Salford Quays.

And I ended the month by proposing a cycling petition.
