I’ve read a couple of horro stories about Virgin Media today. BoingBoing focuses on the new CEO’s bollocks attitude to net neutrality. Charlie Stross thinks he’s identified a problem when a router is attached to a Virgin line.

I’ve noticed, since we got a new cable modem, that our connection seems slower and less reliable than before, even though we’re on a supposedly higher speed connection. The idea that they’ll penalise Spinneyhead for not paying them a bribe pisses me off as well. Traffic’s not that high at the moment, but it’s not going to grow if a load of potential customers find load times stretching because they’re with Virgin Media and the guys with money are getting preferential treatment.

It could be time to have a word with the man who pays our internet bills.
