More jobseekers told to do unpaid work or face possible loss of benefits | Society | The Guardian

The government will tell up to 70,000 jobseekers that they must work unpaid for four weeks or lose their benefits for three months under an expansion of the mandatory work activity programme.

US military using lightweight mini-drones launched from battlefield | World news | The Guardian

The US military has issued soldiers in Afghanistan with a new class of lightweight unmanned drone known as the Switchblade, which can be carried in a backpack and used on the battlefield in place of an air strike.

KidsCan Can Can

Largest Can Can Dance.
Sunday July 1st 2012 – 12noon EventCity

The current Guinness World Record for the largest Can Can Dance stands at 1503 people. Let’s bring the record to Greater Manchester and raise money for children’s cancer research.

KidsCan are a national charity specifically set up to support research into new and improved treatments for childhood cancers. This year 1 in 500 children will be diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately 1 in 5 will not survive. Through groundbreaking research, KidsCan is striving to reduce that figure but your continued support is vital.
