Shapeways Products
Christmas is coming!
Gift-giving time is almost upon us, so, I would like to point you to the places you can buy Spinneyhead stuff.
Obviously, you can buy my books, or Garth’s, but they’re exclusively digital. Buy them as a treat for yourself.
If you want physical presents to give away, there are a few places you can go.
I have a store hosted by Zibbet, where you can buy cards, buttons, badges and cufflinks made from coins, odd, naughty boxes, and vintage items.
I’m selling antique postcards on Delcampe, as well as stamps, slides and other interesting stuff.
A selection of my photos are available as prints from DeviantArt or Redbubble.
You can get 3D prints of stuff I’ve designed from Shapeways. It’s mostly model rail related stuff, but I’m going to be adding new designs as soon as possible.
I may have forgotten some of the places you can get my stuff, I have tried out all sorts over the years, but these are the main ones I use at the moment.
1:32nd scale gesturing hands
I’m going to start designing more stuff for 3D printing soon. Here’s one of my existing products. For use with 1:32nd scale/54mm figures, they bring an extra range of gestures to your models.
Little pieces of plastic that make me very happy
These arrived today, and I am very pleased with them. They’re the latest test prints of my first set of modern image bikes for model railways. The larger bikes are O gauge (1:43rd), and look to be ready for market. You can order them from the Spinneyworld shop, with the first full scale print late this month or early next.
The smaller bikes are OO (1:76th). At that size, the handle bars and pedals were too fine to print (I had to fatten them up for the O gauge ones). The question is, would people buy them if they need to fashion their own handle bars? I could make them in etched brass, but that could be expensive, or make them from wire, a little labour intensive. But I’m selling to resourceful folk, maybe I can rely on them to do a bit of the work.
Modellers, what do you think?
Buy my benches
1:76th Park Bench 4 simple modern park benches. Each has a mounting peg in one leg to secure them to baseboard.
This is a test of embedding buy buttons for Shapeways printed items.
Spinneyhead Christmas gifts for the railway modeller
If you’re looking for a gift for the railway modeller in your life then I may have just the things for you.
Check the Model Railway Products category for transfers and one offs for OO gauge layouts, all of which will be dispatched quickly and in plain wrapping so you can sneak them past the person they’re for.
I also have a lot of products available through 3D printing service Shapeways. Of particular interest to your railway modelling friend or relative will be the OO gauge section of the shop. All prices include VAT and delivery (there may be some differences outside the EU). Shapeways estimate a ten day delivery time for their products, though my most recent order arrived in less than that.
New product on Shapeways
I’m just limbering up and re-learning Blender, so my first new product at Shapeways is a rework of an existing one. These guns are for mounting on vehicles in sci-fi wargames, so your tanks can be bristling with point defence.
OO modern street furniture through Shapeways
The plan is to produce a few simple models every week and build up a wide range of street furniture for model railway builders. I’ll be ordering copies of my own products, some of which will go to magazines for promotion and some I will build myself and record here. In fact the first batch should print and ship this week, so next week I’ll be painting bins.
Today and yesterday I designed and uploaded some benches-
The cantilever bench comes as a set of five, the other two as sets of four. The price will depend upon which material you use, but includes taxes and shipping charges. There’s a minimum order of $25. None of the models will exceed that individually, but the idea is for you to be able to pick and choose street furniture until you’ve got enough, with enough variety, for your layout.
The benches, and the bins I designed last week, are available from my Shapeways shop.
