I am now officially a cyber nomad, typing this on the steps of the Albert Memorial in front of the Town Hall. I have managed to find free WiFi provided by Streetnet. I’m a little wired after a coffee and a tea in Nero and attractive women keep walking past.
Life is good.
I'm thinking of wandering around town sniffing for WiFi hotspots now I've reinstalled the drivers on my laptop. I'd take the mouse, but he can only sniff cheese.
Preliminary research tells me that Caffe Nero charges a fiver a day, which is much more than the free I'm prepared to pay.
I’d like to be a neo-nomad, working from whichever cafe serves the best coffee, so long as it has free WiFi, using all those wonderful Web 2.0 applications to do business. Of course, I’m not, and I have to trundle off to work every day and sit in an office with all the other poor souls tied to the humdrum.
But I can dream.
