Reminds me of the story of a Spanish bus. The driver had had enough and got off to go home. Eventually a passenger got into the drivers seat and carried on the route until her stop, then somebody else took over and the bus made it all the way to the end of the line.
On the more rural services I have seen drivers get lost and ask passengers for directions. The best one was the driver shouting “Did anybody want to go to Diggle? I’ve just missed the turning”.
