  Drivers in Greater Manchester are just weeks away from seeing the start of an ecological car revolution. The first of 300 electric charging points planned for the region are set to be unveiled by November.

  It comes after a consortium led by the region’s 10 local councils secured £3.6m from a Whitehall scheme to promote eco-friendly cars.
