Comic Sans is Dave Gibbons’ bastard child
I didn’t know that Comic Sans was based (badly) upon Dave Gibbons’ hand lettering. He’s not impressed by it, as he tells the Guardian, and is happier with later versions of his hand lettering font.
Happy Birthday Helvetica
Most fonts are short lived things, but Helvetica is 50 years old. Mostly I use Helvetica knock off Arial, maybe I should give in and buy myself a copy of the daddy.
