bio-power
My sister’s sold on the idea of getting a diesel Land Rover and running it on bio-fuel. I promised I’d dig out all my old links on the subject-
Bio-power has a lot of information about making fuel from veg oil and waste cooking oil, and the MERCi project at Bridge 5 Mill have a bio-diesel scheme. The downside at the moment seems to be stupidly high taxation on the fuel, meaning that no matter how much they say they want it, the politicians are working against a green technology. (It’s still cheaper than diesel from the pump, but the Customs and Excise can get huffy if they think it’s not being paid.) It’s time to start campaigning for a reduction in the tax on this low pollution alternative.
