Still breathless
After some feedback from videos.antville, I went back to the Take My Breath Away video today and reduced the file size and changed format. It’s now available in Quicktime, the same resolution as the AVI version, but about a third of the size- breath8.mov (24mB). Probably still a bit large, but I’m learning how to keep the size down.

Hack
Hacking your way off the electricity grid. This may work best in San Francisco, where they have far too much sunshine and state rebates, but even less successful attempts will save homeowners loads of cash.

My (artificial) island home
The Maldives are a splatter of tiny islands in an 804km archipelago running North to South off the toe of India. The capital, Mal�, has become so congested that the only possible solution was to build a brand new island from scratch to take the overflow.
