I regularly find obscure foreign model companies, primarily producing figures, that I’m a little nervous to purchase from. Which is why I’m glad I just found out how extensive the stock of Historex Merchants is. It might be possible to score a bargain because of exchange rates, but the gain tends to be negated by shipping and customs costs, so it’s cool to be able to get the stuff from a British store.

Globally, 14% of people admit that they would interrupt lovemaking to pick up their phone. Obviously there are national variations, with the civilised Italians being a low 7% and Germans and Spaniards an unromantic 22%.

Radio 4 has challenged a British family to live on the same energy as an Indian family and are tracking the results in a series of 15 minute programmes this week. The aim is to highlight the current difference between our countries and also consider the world’s requirements as India and China catch up with the West.
