Blended wing planes 20% more efficient

Not only do they look futuristic as anything but blended wing plane designs could have 20% lower fuel consumption and be less noisy for the people they passed over because of the engines’ placement on top of the wing. NASA engineers believe they are close to overcoming all the stability issues inherent in a blended wing’s lack of a tail, using curved flaps along the edge of each wing and rudders on each wingtip and have tested a 5% scale model of the design in a wind tunnel.

cyclist intuition

At cross junctions with traffic lights, if there are more than three cars in a row not indicating right or left then at least one of them is lying. Why are people too lazy to use the indicators? It would be okay on an empty country road where there was noone to signal to, but on a busy city street they’re just hindering other road users and being a nuisance and a danger.
Equally, indicating left whilst behind a cyclist then overtaking and cutting them up is just as stupid. If i can’t see the signal it’s as useless as no signal.
I witnessed both of these this morning and was the cyclist who was cut up. It’s time for a campaign calling for less brain dead driving.

Modelling table

I have a modelling table. Well, it’s more of a table I’ve taken over to do modelling on, but it’s a start.

Current projects are the Andrea Secret Agent (aka Tiny Little Bond) and his car. The car sustained a cracked windscreen in the move and I still don’t have anywhere or the equipment to do spray painting, so I’m opting to build it as if it’s been in the wars, with bullet holes, soot and stripped paint.

Next up- I’ve joined the tiny diorama group build on Fine Scale’s forums. I think I’ll do a few in-box (occasionally in-bag) reviews of kits from my collectionand review a few more modelling magazines.

A brief history of Satanism in popular music.

The first thing you need to know is that a true Satanist will tell you that any group that puts Satanic imagery on their album covers or in the music is bogus. Every single one.

The other thing you need to know is that a true Satanist will also tell you that all music is Satanic, every single note.

Consequently, an article on Satanic rock is a tricky proposition insofar as none of it is real; explicitly Satanic rock like Venom is really no more Satanic than The Carpenters. And the Carpenters are just as Satanic as Venom.

However, there is a history to the appearance of Satanic imagery and references in rock music. So consider this an attempt to organize that history a little.

call for artists

I’m still looking for artists to help on my web comics. I’m going to wrap deputised experts up with a very brief all cg epilogue. I’ll return to the characters in the new year. My next project is the berlin job, an alternate history tale. I’ve got it plotted at 60 pages and i’ve started doing the layouts. This is going to be much more hand drawn, with computer aid for the finishing and possibly colouring. I’ve also got ideas for an adult comic done in cg for mary tales and i’m learning how to use poser just for it.
But i have more ideas, far more than i could hope to draw myself. So i’m looking for collaborators, specifically for a project called ‘mongrels’. It’s a post singularity tale of the cyborgs who keep the peace between humanity and the machines. I’ll script, you’ll draw. At the very least you’ll get something for your portfolio, but there’ll also be a share of subscription and advertising income.
