Don't Open The Box
Now that people are getting bored of Blaine-in-a-box, they’ve started a sweeps on who should be in there instead.

They really should do this every weekend
Boran had been listening to the sounds of battle, unable to judge which way things were going. It was certainly too loud to be just a defence against Janssen’s murder squads, perhaps there had been a full blown rising. The sounds of planes and explosions didn’t fill him with optimism for the rebellions chances. Either way, his chances were slim- rebels would hang him for being part of the occupying forces, the occupying forces would shoot him for helping the rebels.
There were noises from beyond the cell door. Other cells were being opened and, judging by the happy cries that followed, their occupants freed. The jubilation, and occasional shout of anger, drew closer The door two cells down opened, then the one next door.
Boran stood and straightened his clothes the best he could, he at least had to look presentable. Hands clasped behind his back he faced the door. A key turned in the lock and the door was pulled open.
It was dark enough in the corridor that Boran could make out the features of the man before him with ease”Aylo?”
“Ah, good, you are still alive.”
“I….”
“I have a proposal for you.”

And, for when I get round to starting the dioramas I have planned for all my plane kits- the online shop of a company that stocks loads of cool diorama accessories.
After some faffing around on Friday, I got a very helpful note from BitPass about possible problems with my first listed sale through them. I’ve applied it and can now announce the first batch of Spinneyhead digital merchandise-
The images are just right for my Sony-Ericsonn T610 (work with what you know) but other resolutions shall be added soon. They’re all specially cropped and adjusted versions of gallery images such as this one.
A drunken US soldier has been mauled by a tiger at Baghdad zoo, which was then shot by one of his colleagues.
As if it wasn’t bad enough with the civilian population, now they have to go and piss off the rare animals.
Rightwing blogger Evan Coyne Maloney decided to doorstep Michael Moore and harass him about so many documentary makers being liberals. However, and unlike so many of Moore’s targets, the big man turned out to be perfectly reasonable and coherent.

It’s the centenary of the Wright brothers’ first flight on December 17th. Check out the countdown to Kitty Hawk.
Update Check out the attempt to build a flying replica.
I’ve been adding a few more pictures-
Jelly Ass. Move it around and watch it jiggle.
Not safe for work, of course.
September 24th is National Dating Day (though it looks more like National Drum Up Business For DatingDirect.com Day, and I’ll probably be celebrating Local Stay In Because I Can’t Get A Date Day). As part of their publicity, they’re auctioning ‘celebrity’ dates. Who is Penny Smith and why is she worth 8,900?
I’ve never smoked (well, nothing that didn’t have ‘additives’ anyway) and I don’t want to. I think it’s a disgusting habit and paying for the privilege of shortening your life is pretty stupid.
But I don’t want to see laws brought in to ban smoking from all public places. No smoking areas are good, but a total ban is too extreme. This sort of health fascism may go down okay in New York, but not Paris and London. It’s un- European I tell you.
What made the Rolling Stones go and get Sympathy for the Devil remixed? Are they actually happy to be associated with this travesty? What exactly has been achieved by sticking a crappy drumbeat on the track and looping the “Woo-Woo”s under the lyrics?
Why? Why, why, why?
Now that I’ve listened to all my MP3s I’m listening to Xfm again. I haven’t done an exhaustive study of internet radio stations, so if anyone can find one with this cool mix of music but none of the adverts or annoying London-centric content, I’d love to know about it.
This week’s theme is Found–
A US soldier has a piece in today’s Guardian questioning the reasons he’s in Iraq. I’d bet that many of the people over there risking their lives for someone else’s financial gain feel the same.
Technorati tag: Iraq
Does anyone out there own a Nokia with a colour screen? I’d like to know how easy it is to transfer an image file from a PC to your phone and then set it as wallpaper. If you’re feeling reeeeeeeeeally helpful, could you tell me what size the image on your wall paper is as well.
My first BitPass’d products are going to be versions of pictures from my gallery shrunk down to wallpaper size for as many mobiles as possible. I’ve just managed to mine the Sony-Ericsonn sizes, but Nokia’s site is only about selling so I couldn’t get any freebies to examine from there.

In an attempt to get the first live pictures of giant squid researchers are going to try to coax them to have sex with the camera by using ground up squid gonads. Eeew
